Taking a Look at the Samsung WEP200 Bluetooth Wireless Headset

Have you ever been looking for a certain item and suddenly found it on sale for a rock bottom price? Those are the moments that every shopper lives for; to find a great product at an unbeatable low price. And cheap does not always have to mean that it is a piece of garbage. There are some exceptions to this though. Electronics is one of those gray areas where cheap may actually equate to shoddy workmanship and poor quality. The Samsung WEP200 Bluetooth Wireless Headset is very cheap but it is also one of those items that you get what you pay for.

Cheap is definitely what you are going to get with the Samsung WEP200 Bluetooth Wireless Headset. If you are looking for something that is comfortable to wear for an extended period of time, then you will definitely not like the WEP200. It is also very short on talk time. So if you need a Bluetooth headset that is comfortable and has long talk times for the battery, then you are better off with another headset.

The WEP200 only has a talk time of four hours. If you are a business person then that is not much time at all. And if you need a comfortable ear piece then you can forget this model. The product description claims it is a comfortable ear piece but users all agree that it is not designed for someone who needs to wear it for many hours of the day. Another downside is that it does not offer any sort of sound protection for wind or background noise. So if you are using it in the car, your caller is going to hear a lot of background noise.

So why would anyone buy the Samsung WEP200? Most people buy it because of price. You can easily find it for less than $25.00 and sometimes for even around $18.00 which puts it at the very low end of the price spectrum. If you do not use your Bluetooth headset much then it may be the perfect headset for you. You just cannot expect much from it.

There is no doubt that the Samsung WEP200 Bluetooth Wireless Headset is cheap. But it is also cheaply made and does not do well for individuals who need long talk times or wear their Bluetooth headset a lot. You want something that is dependable, comfortable and comes at a good cost. There really are much better Bluetooth headsets on the market that do not cost much more but have received better reviews.

What is Bluetooth and How Does it Work?

What exactly is Bluetooth technology and how does it work? We are here to answer this questions so that you can understand the possibilities that come with this technology. There are many myths out there about how Bluetooth works and we have written this article to put these myths to bed.

Bluetooth was created by many companies that came together to set up a short frequency wireless technology for transferring data. Some of the companies that participated in creating Bluetooth were Intel, Toshiba, Nokia, IBM, Compaq, Dell, and Samsung just to name a few. Bluetooth is a certain protocol that can be used by communication devices. This protocol is it's own language just like java or c++. This special language allows devices to communicate with each other in a master/slave operational format. This means that one device is the master or brain, and the other device follows it's commands. The neat part about this is that the master can connect to several different slaves meaning that many Bluetooth devices can be paired to one master such as a cell phone or computer.

Common myths range from Bluetooth being a broadband networking feature. This is not true. Bluetooth headsets and Bluetooth headphones use a personal area networking technology that can be used in many applications. Bluetooth devices use the same frequency range, which is about 2.4 GHZ, as the Wi-Fi system. The enhanced versions of Bluetooth devices utilize Ultra-Wide Band frequencies that contribute to increased date rate and improves the signal strength allowing users to be further away from working devices without losing a signal.

The creators of Bluetooth technology have made it very easy for users to pair these slaves and masters together using a discovery mode. This allows the devices to find each other automatically and then asks the user to pair them together. Devices typically have a pin number so that devices don't accidentally pair to one each other when the user does not want them to.

The other really neat feature is that devices only use needed power to operate when the brain (master) tells it to turn on. An example of this is the common cell phone Bluetooth headset. This headset stays in standby mode until the phone rings and turns it on. This saves battery life and extends device life so that you can keep a device on all day without worry that the battery will run out.

We hope this has given you a basic understanding behind the marvelous technology of Bluetooth.

Bluetooth Headphones - Say Goodbye to Wires

If you have never tried a set of Bluetooth headphones before you are in a for a treat! They are pretty much the most stylish and definitely the coolest kind of stereo headphones on the market today! What makes Bluetooth headphones so much better than traditional headphones you may ask?

The first thing that makes Bluetooth headphones so much better than traditional headphones is that you eliminate the wires. Most people love to listen to music on their iPod or Zune while working out and exercising. The most common discomfort with traditional headphones is always having that stupid wire hitting you in rhythm during your exercises, not to mention the creative things you have to do to try and make the wire weave in and out of your clothes. Bluetooth headphones are excellent because they have a small transmitter that plugs into our iPod or any other type of audio source and wallah, that's it! Not having wires makes it even easier to accomplish exercises such as lifting weights, doing yoga, or performing Pilate's without having to worry about getting tangled up in your traditional headphone's wiring.

Another really nice feature of most stereo Bluetooth headphones is that they add extra functionality to your music listening device. Often when i work out i usually put my iPod on shuffle. Occasionally a song comes on that does not fit my mood and i want to change it. If i have been working up a sweat it is really hard to slide that iPod dial to change the song. With Bluetooth headphones this problem of changing songs or adjusting volume is over. Most headphones have volume buttons and track change buttons right on the ear piece. This means that you can be right in the middle of running or doing some sort of exercise and just quickly change the song with the push of a button on your ear. Not only do these headphones give you easier functionality of your listening device, but most of them are sweat and water proof.

Bluetooth headphones are truly the new headphones of the future because you can charge them up using any USB device such as a computer, or laptop. They charge very fast and have a long lasting battery life that will allow to to rock out to your favorite toons at any time. Please check out our other articles to learn even more about these amazing headphones.

Bluetooth Headphones Styles and Advantages

An important step to take when you are looking to buy Bluetooth headphones is to understand that there are many different headphone styles. To many people buy a set of headphones because they look cool, instead of buying the kind of headphones that are comfortable or meet the needs of your listening habits. Let's go over the different styles of headphones that exist with Bluetooth technology.

The first style is ear cradle type of headphones. This style is also the main style used by Bluetooth headset devices that allow you to answer and make calls while paired to your cell phone. This type of Bluetooth headphones are great for people that like to exercise. Runners, walkers, and avid gym goers like this style because the headphones stay on the ears and are wireless. Many of these Bluetooth headphones have volume and track selection features right on the ear piece so you can play with your music device with ease while exercising.

The second style is the DJ over the head headphones. This style is a must have for serious music listeners that care about bass and treble ranges. If you mix music or are a DJ, these types of Bluetooth headsets are the bomb as they typically have larger battery charge capacity. This headphone style utilizes muffle technology to get rid of outside noise so you can listen to your music and feel like its just you and the band experiencing a musical experience together. These headphones come in two different styles, wired or wireless.

The third style that is very popular mimics the headphones that the iPod's come with, the earbud. These type's of headphones are very similar to the ear cradle style which connects the two ear pieces with a wire to utilize battery power. Ear buds are also great for people that exercise and want hassle free headphones. The only draw back to this style of headphones is that they tend to fall out of your ears very easily because there is not much support to keep them in the ear canal.

Hopefully you have a much better idea of the types of styles of Bluetooth headphones that are out there. Make sure you determine which kind of style will work best for you and then go for it. Bluetooth technology is the creme of the crop in today's headphones market and you really can't go wrong purchasing a set.

Schosche BlueLife Headphones - They Do it All

We are excited to announce that Schosche has just released a new set of Bluetooth headphones as part of their BlueLife line. We have had the chance to try them and wanted to give our own review of the product so that we could share with you these amazing light weight headphones that definitely pack a punch to help you in your quest of purchasing a set of Bluetooth headphones!

These headphones are static free and produced amazing sound quality, which in our opinion rival the sound quality of the iPod earbud headphones. Another really cool feature regarding this type of Bluetooth headset is that the range worked up to 30 ft before the audio signal cut off. The batteries also lasted 8 to 9 hours which is quite a feat for these new types of Bluetooth headphones as most other competitors only last about 3 to 4 hours.

The main feature that caught us off guard was that these headphones were also Bluetooth headsets. This means that you can also answer the phone while listening to music. The headphones are compatible with any Bluetooth enabled cell phone as well as current gaming consoles such as the PS3. This feature alone truly makes this new type of Bluetooth headphones the all in one package. While trying them out we loved being able to answer the phone and talk while exercising and then having the music resume the second the phone call was over.

The BlueLife headphones also came in a kit form with two different kits to choose from. The first kit has an iPod connector which connects at the base of the iPod to transmit the audio signal. The second kit offered an adapter that works with any audio device that has a headphone jack to transmit the sound. This is perfect if you are looking for complete functionality because you know you can use your headset with any device, even ancient stereo systems. Both system kits include the headphones, charging cable, and transmitter. The headphones themselves are very light weight and also came with buttons on one of the ear pieces to adjust volume and skip tracks.

If you are looking for an all in one device Schosche has put together a very good product that will fit your needs of being able to listen to music and gives you the ability to answer the phone. We hope to see more Bluetooth headsets like this in the near future that expand even more on these great features.

Games For Your Android SmartPhone

While you can certainly take care of business with a Google Android SmartPhone such as the HTC magic or the T Mobile G1, you can also have a lot of fun with them too. Here are a few of the games that are available for free from the Android market:

4NumGuess: This bizarre number guessing game does not come with instructions, and has to be played in side-view mode. Numbers need to be entered using the on screen display, rather than the keypad, which may seem an odd decision but it means that it is fully compatible with machines without one.

Amazed: A 2 dimensional maze game in which you have to guide the ball around by tilting the phone. Although simple, this game features some of the best use of the accelerometer in an Android game to date.

Asquare: A potentially endless game, in which you have to match three shapes by swapping one or two at a time. The points system depends upon your matches per turn ratio.

Backgammon - This mobile version of the classic board game is a decent version featuring all that you would expect. However, the game also serves as a demonstration of how hard it is to drag and drop using a touchscreen, as every slight loss of contact is interpreted as a drop. It is only marginally more playable with the mini trackball.

Bonsai Blast - The aim of the game with Bonsai Blast is to shoot balls at an oncoming line of balls before it gets to the edge of the screen. The graphics are terrific, but aiming with the touch screen can be a bit hit or miss.

Brain Genius Deluxe - If you like the idea of brain training games, then you will love Brain Genius Deluxe, in which you have to complete various tasks and puzzles. As you complete these tasks, you unlock various games, such as SuDoku, Crosspix, Sliding Puzzle, and Jigsaw, which you can then play at your leisure. The games make use of all the control functions of the phone apart from the keypad, although the if your phone has a mini joystick then you will probably just want to use that, as both the accelerometer and the touch screen can be frustrating to use.

Bubble Bash demo - This is a very similar game to Bonsai Blast, although this time the balls are just floating free rather than coming at you in lines. As with the aforementioned game, the aiming mechanism is a little on the inaccurate side, but the graphics are pretty nifty looking.

Vodafone stock a great range of mobiles if you are looking to upgrade, or sim cards if you already have your phone of choice.

Free Android Games Round Up

Owners of Android-compatible phones such as the HTC magic and the T-Mobile G1 will be pleased as punch to learn that there are some great free games out there just waiting to be downloaded from the Android Market. Here are a few to try - and a few to avoid!

Mahjongg - A fairly faithful rendition of the Japanese pairs game. Unfortunately, the touchscreen is the only input device that can be used with this game, which pretty much rules it out unless you have very slender fingers to select the tiny images with.

mem - This simon-says game, in which you have to press an icon as soon as possible after its counterpart is displayed, features some pretty zany sound effects, and it works well with the touch screen, but the long term appeal is fairly limited.

Minspace War - A 2D shoot-em-up that uses the phones mini-keypad as a control surface. Although the graphics are good and you suspect it might play a lot better on a laptop or a dedicated games console, the controls are too fiddly to make it worth the time it takes to download.

MisMisMatch - The aim of this deceptively simple puzzle game is to press boxes, arranged on a grid, with your finger, that are not currently part of a pair in order to flip them over so that they match with an adjacent box, and can be taken out of play. There is a helpful tutorial mode to guide you through the basics, and a selection of difficulty settings.

Pac-Man by Namco - After the Space Invaders craze of the late 1970s, came Pac-Man, a yellow ball with eyes whose main purpose in life was to munch down lines of pills, arranged within a maze, and occasionally eat a few flashing ghosts when he was full of the confidence that only oranges could offer him. This is a fine rendition with all the original visuals, but neither the touch screen nor the track ball is really suitable for playing it with.

Pop Pop Popcorn - Use your finger as a virtual heating element, to heat un-popped popcorn, arranged on a grid, until it pops, but make sure not to leave your finger on two long or surrounding popcorn will burn. One of the better touchscreen games available for the Android platform.

Santas War on Terror - This side scrolling platform game features the western worlds favourite generosity metaphor in a pitched battle against the terrorists. Although the title might raise a chuckle or two, the graphics are poor and St. Nick is ridiculously hard to control, making it one to avoid.

TxtSpeed - In this game, words scroll across the screen that you then have to type into the miniature keypad as quickly as possible. Great if you are trying to get to grips with typing on a miniature QWERTY keypad, but a little bit boring nonetheless.

Vodafone offers a huge range of mobile phones and price plans. If you like smart phones, you will love the Google Phone with its fast internet for express browsing and downloads.

Gaming Fun With Your Android Phone

The best thing about the new Google Android range of smart phones is that the big screen and novel input devices, such as the touch screen, accelerometer, and track ball, open up a whole new world of mobile gaming. However, not every type of game is suitable for this type of set up. In this guide, we have a look at some of the games currently available from the Android Market that use these devices:

Slide Puzzle - This nice looking version of the classic fifteen piece slider puzzle game does everything you would expect it to do, and makes good use of the touch screen.

Snake - Fed up of the impossibly slow, overcomplicated 3D versions of Snake that have been turning up on mobile phones recently? Then you will be pleased to learn that they have made a version of the original two dimensional classic for the Android. The only downside is that the trackball is not really as suitable for playing this game as a numeric keypad is, which could be frustrating in a pressure situation.

Sokodroid - In this game, the user has to push his or her red square or around, using the trackball or the touch screen, with the aim of pushing blue squares into holes. It is not the worst game in the world, but neither control surface is really suitable for the task in hand.

Solitaire - Fans of the classic Windows card game adaptation Solitaire may be disappointed to learn that this version is rendered vitually unplayable by the limitations of the touch screen device, which almost completely precludes accurate dragging and dropping.

Speed - Ever wanted to play Pong up and down the screen instead of across the way? Then download Speed, and all your dreams will come true! Using your finger makes it hard to move the bat with any accuracy, and it also kind of gets in the way of being able to see what is happening. However, if you can work around these difficulties, then it can still be a fun game.

Sudoku - An electronic version of the Oriental puzzle classic, which can be controlled with a trackball or your finger, although the controls are so fiddly that you will probably want to give it a miss altogether.

Tap Tick - In this diverting but ultimately boring reaction game, the aim is to stop an advancing counter when it reaches a certain number. Handy for checking if you are still alive, but there are better games out there.

Tetroid - This version of the classic puzzle game uses the accelerometer to allow you to tilt the various pieces into place. The controls can take a little getting used to, but once you do it is as gently addictive as ever.

Trap! - The aim the game in this touch screen version of the mobile phone gaming classic is to trap bouncing balls within as small a region of the screen as possible, without being hit by one while you are drawing a line. It is not bad, but the touch screen can be a little finicky.

Vodafone offer a huge range of mobile phones and price plans. If you like smart phones, you will love the HTC Magic with its fast internet for express browsing and downloads.

Android Compatible Freebie Games

You will probably already be aware of some of the excellent apps available for the Google Android SmartPhone operating system, as used on the T mobile G1 and the HTC, but did you know there were a lot of cool games too? Here is a run down of some of the free games available from the Android Market:

Bubblewrap - Not so much a video game as a way of life, this frighteningly realistic bubblewrap simulator allows you to do everything you could ever want to do with a piece of bubblewrap, without having to waste any valuable plastic packing material.

Thankfully, the transformation is temporary. When you press one of the (virtual) bubbles, they visibly burst, accompanied by a popping noise, and a short vibration from the phone.

Charlene Beachside Blackjack (aka CB Blackjack) - A neat, visually appealing Blackjack simulator, which you can play with either the trackball or the touchscreen.

CB Klondike - The best version of the old PC classic, Solitaire, yet released for the Android, the only disappointment being that the drag and drop problems that are present with all touch screen devices make this a bit tricky to play.

Charlene Beachside Reversi (aka CB Reversi) - A classy adaptation of the classic Othello board game, controllable either with the trackball or the the touch screen. There is also a two player mode, and a helper mode for beginners.

Coloroid - The aim of the game in Coloroid is to turn the whole screen one color by choosing adjacent colors for your swelling mass to adsorb from a list at the side of the screen. Recommended.

Divide and Conquer! - If you have ever played the classic mobile game Trap before, then you will know how to play Divide and Conquer, which is basically the same game, but given the touch screen smart phone treatment. The aim of the game is to segregate a certain proportion of the screen from some deadly bouncing balls by drawing lines with your finger.

Vodafone offer a huge range of mobile phones and price plans. If you like smart phones, you will love the HTC Magic with its fast internet for express browsing and downloads.

A Guide to Some of the Best - And Worst - Android Games

Want to play some games on your new Android phone, but do not know what to download first? Let this round-up guide you in your quest.

Girl Skip - An Anime-style cross between Minesweeper and Hopscotch, in which you have to clear the board of randomly placed 1s, 2s and As by pressing numbers on the keypad corresponding to the distance you want to cover with your next move. There is a handy helper mode that tells you all the available moves at any given point.

Hold em - Poker fans might want to download this fun Texas Hold em simulator, which works ok, but the double tapping and card tossing features overcomplicate an already fiddly control system.

JK Connect Four - This two player only connect 4 simulator is a functional enough version of the classic game, with basic graphics and no extra features, but the lack of a single player mode means that you probably will not be spending a whole lot of time with it.

Light Racer - Fans of the iconic Disney sci-fi movie Tron might want to give this version of the light cycle game from that movie. The aim of the game is to drive your bike around, leaving a coloured trail behind you that your opponents have to avoid if they want to stay in the game, with the aim being to trap them without entangling yourself.

Lights Out - A frustratingly addictive puzzle game, which involves tapping invisibly linked lights on and off with your finger on the touch screen, in an attempt turn the grid completely black. Superb.

Lunar Lander - One of the worst games for the Android, in which you have to land a spaceship on the lunar surface, represented by a coloured line. Like the old 8-bit classic Thrust, but with all of fun bits removed.

ZeptoRacer - This racing game takes forever to load and is hardly worth the effort, as the controls are unwieldy and the vibrations that indicate that you are doing it all wrong are not only irritating but a real drain on the battery.

Vodafone offer a huge range of mobile phones and price plans. If you like smart phones, you will love the Google Phone with its fast internet for express browsing and downloads.

How Do You Get Internet to Work on the Mini iPhone CECT KA08? Can You Get Online For Free?

There has been a lot of interest in the new mini iPhone clone that is as small as a credit card and comes in most of the colors of the rainbow. This cute little phone has all of the features without the large size and without the large price tag. Many of the questions that I get about this one has to do with Internet usage. Rest assured that the small size of the phone doesn't mean that CECT has taken out the ability to browse the web. They certainly haven't. This is one of the main selling features of the phone. I will discuss this more in the following article.

What You Need To Use The Internet On The CECT KA08: I often get questions from confused folks who tell me that they inserted the SIM card, tried to use the WAP browser, and are not getting a variety of error messages. When I ask them if they have updated their settings to reflect the data package that they are using, they often have no clue what I mean. Some people think that you can insert a talk and text (MMS, SMS), SIM into the phone without having any data included and it will work. This isn't the case. That would be like inserting a SIM for which you have only paid for talk and expecting to send picture messages.

The phone comes with everything that you need to get online. But in order to use this feature, you will need to either have a web package included with your carrier or you'll need to add it or buy a data SIM. Since this phone has dual SIM slots, this should not be very difficult. I know that many people do not want to have to pay a large monthly fee for Internet usage. You really shouldn't have to. There are pre paid cards that include data. Go Phone has usage starting at $4.99 per month. You can also find unlimited cards which include data, talk, and text for around $25. What I really like about both is that there is no obligation. If you decide one month that you don't need to get online, then you just don't pay for it for that month but then you can pick it back up when you wish.

Assuming that you do have data on your card and you still can't get the Internet to work, make sure that both cards are installed correctly first and then check to see if your data, WAP, GPRS, and MMS settings are pointing to whatever carrier that you are using and that the information is updated and correct. (For example, if all of this is pointing to say, China Mobile, you will need for it to reflect your GSM carrier (T Mobile, AT&T, Fido, etc.) And even if you see your carrier there, go in and make sure that there are any typos or errors.

Most of the time, you can get these settings from your carrier. If not, you can typically get user's manuals that outline each and every step for set up including the settings for just a few bucks. There is also software that takes almost all of the work out of it.

Is Surfing The Net Free On The CECT KA08 Mini?: Well, we've already discussed how you need a data plan. Now, if your monthly plan includes web access for free, then I guess technically you aren't paying for it. The truth is, this is going to cost you whatever the amount is that you are paying for data, which should not be much.

There is a misconception that if you use Opera Mini you don't have to pay for the Internet. I have never known this to be true. I think that the misconception likes in the fact that Opera Mini browser itself is free, but the phone can't work without the use of the data package. This can be had at a very low cost, but I don't believe the people who claim that they are getting online for free. I think that they probably have web use included on their card and are just not aware of this.
