HTC Touch Diamond - A New Generation of Touch Screens
The HTC Touch Diamond is a new touch screen phone that offers many useful and attractive features. There are many good points to this phone, but like all others, it has its drawbacks as well. Touch screens are becoming more popular among phones thanks to the iPhone, and the HTC Diamond offers that capability. However, this phone also offers four buttons in addition to the touch screen. The hardware design for the HTC Touch Diamond is a good set-up. It is sleek and stylish, with a shiny black finish. It is roughly the size of a person's palm, and has a candy bar shape. The four buttons that are included are: call answer, call end, back, and home. These buttons make it easier to accomplish basic phone tasks when using this phone. On the back of the phone is the lens for the 3.2 megapixel camera. The phone is a good size, using the benefits of a compact phone without being so small as to be practically useless. The jack that comes with the phone is a mini USB port, which works great for transferring photos and music, but makes the use of other headsets nearly impossible. The screen on the HTC Touch Diamond is 2.8 inches VGA screen. It is brightly lit, and easy to use. The clarity of the screen is one of the best qualities of any phone equipped with Windows Mobile. The actual use of the screen, however, is fairly difficult to use. Great pressure is necessary to register screen taps, with multiple taps required before some commands are registered. The stylus has to be used on more occasions than most people will want to have to bring it out. The touch screen is nowhere near as precise as the iPhone, so the HTC diamond will not be a heavy competitor for that product. Additionally, the HTC Touch Diamond offers 3.5G Internet speeds as well as wife connectivity. It also comes with a built in GPS and Bluetooth capabilities. The call quality of the phone is better than average, but the overall volume of the phone leaves something to be desired. The phone does not have a very loud range of volume at all. It also comes with 4GB of memory and Touch FLO 3D. This version of the program is much more aesthetically pleasing than previous versions, but the phone just doesn't seem capable of handling it, as the process of using the touch screen is frustrating at best. The battery life for this phone is about average, with enough battery to make it though one full day of use. Overall the HTC Touch Diamond is a decent phone. It handles the basic functions of a phone fairly well, and offers many other pleasing features. The touch screen leaves something to be desired, however, and if the company designing these was hoping to compete with the iPhone, they will be sadly disappointed. The Diamond will not be in competition with the iPhone this time around, which is kind of sad, because many of the features on this phone appear to have been stolen from it. About the Author:
